How to Use a Kenyan Driving License in UK

by | Jun 30, 2016 | Diaspora, Smart Living | 0 comments

You are allowed to drive any small vehicle, for example, a  car or motorcycle, that is listed on your full and valid Kenyan licence for 12 months from the time you entered the UK. However, you cannot drive a bus or lorry.

After 12 months are over, you must take a theory test and practical test to get a UK driving licence because Kenya is not among designated countries that have exchange agreements with Great Britain. The only designated countries are; Andorra, Australia, Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Falkland Islands, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, Japan, Monaco, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland and Zimbabwe.

This applies to Kenyan students in the UK as well.
